Ng Yung-ming, who was pulling the rope for the deceased at the bottom of the cliff to provide support when the incident happened, said yesterday that at around 3pm on April 27 last year, a group of eight people went to Kau Kung Stream in Tai Tau Chau, Shek O for outdoor rock climbing training. When the incident happened, he was pulling the deceased's climbing rope for support. After seeing the deceased climb to the top of the cliff, he loosened the rope buckle by himself and turned his back to the cliff and shouted: "Is anyone climbing again?" Ng saw the deceased turn around and move to the right facing the cliff and fall barefoot. During this time, the deceased reached out but could not grab the point and fell on the rock. Two seconds later, the deceased slid from the rock into the sea again. Someone called the police and the deceased was rescued by firefighters. He died after being sent to the hospital.
